BEAUMONT, CA — Emergency responders were sent Wednesday to a deadly crash in the Beaumont area, the CHP reports. According to the agency, a vehicle rolled through a chain link fence bordering the 60 Freeway and landed on its roof, killing the woman inside.

The collision was first reported around 12:50 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway, near Jack Rabbit Trail, reports indicated. The vehicle, a white Ford pickup truck, landed on a frontage road next to the highway.

Responding fire crews tried to break through one of the truck's windows to reach the person inside, but the victim did not survive, according to preliminary California Highway Patrol reports.
