Caltrans advised motorists to prepare for slow travel through the area while the work is in progress.

HEMET, CA — One of three lanes on state Route 74 through Hemet will be shut down Thursday night and most of next week for repairs to a drainage canal alongside the highway.
From 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, crews will be working to repair a culvert between Meyer Street and Warren Road, requiring a half-mile segment of the No. 2 lane on the westbound side of the 74 to be taken out of service, according to Caltrans.
The repair project will resume Monday, with work to be done from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until its completion.
