SAN BERNARDINO, CA — A would-be robber who was disarmed by a store clerk was shot and killed by police Friday after he pointed a gun at officers, according to reports.

The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m., when San Bernardino officers were flagged down by a clerk at Express Market in the 300 block of Northpark Boulevard West about an armed robbery in progress, KTLA reported.

A man had entered the store, pointed a gun at the clerk’s head, demanded money, and then fired when the clerk tried to disarm him, according to KABC, which reported that the shot just missed the clerk, who disarmed the gunman, and that the shooter went to his vehicle to get another gun.
