IE Woman Arrested In Connection With Child's 2024 Death From Narcotics

The 32-year-old woman was charged with child endangerment.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA — A 32-year-old Inland Empire woman has been arrested this week in connection with a 10-year-old boy who died just before the start of the year, authorities said.

Christina Alvarez of Rancho Cucamonga was charged with child endangerment and booked at West Valley Detention Center. She's being held on $100,000 bail, the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department announced Thursday

Back in December, deputies responded to the 9000 block of Arrow Route after a 911 call regarding an unresponsive child.

Despite life-saving attempts, the child was later pronounced dead. Investigators now believe Alvarez possessed and stored fentanyl in a manner that led to the boy's death.
