Rabbit Fire Grows To 3,300 Acres Near MoVal, Highway 79 Closed
As of Friday night, 25 homes were under evacuation orders, and one man was injured. The brush fire was one of three burning in the area.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Another large brush fire burning near the Moreno Valley area was moving at a rapid rate of spread with zero containment Friday evening.
The Rabbit Fire, initially reported at about 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Jack Rabbit Trail in the unincorporated community of Lakeview, had consumed 3,300 acres with 0% containment as of 5:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. Shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, an evacuation order for approximately 25 homes north of Gilman Springs Road was issued.
The area is just east of Mystic Lake.

There were no reports of injuries and no updates on any possible structure damage. A road closure was in place on Gilman Springs Road from Alessandro Boulevard to Highway 79, and Bridge Street from Gilman Springs to the Ramona Expressway. Additionally, Highway 79 from Gilman Springs to California Avenue was closed, the fire department reported.
More than 100 firefighters were called to the blaze. The firefight was taking place on the ground and from the air.

Multiple firefighting agencies were at the scene.
The cause of the brusher was unknown.
A man was burned at the location, according to officials. Reports indicated he may have been in or near a vehicle that caught fire. The victim, whose name was not disclosed, was taken to Riverside University Health System-Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment.
