Man Accused Of Attacking Senior Women In Moreno Valley
Alex Loany Soza allegedly tried to sexually assault one of the women. In total, he is facing four felony counts.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A 26-year-old Moreno Valley man accused of attacking two elderly women this week was slated to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
Alex Loany Soza is facing one count of assault with intent to commit mayhem/rape/sodomy/oral copulation, two counts of cruelty to an elder, and one count of burglary — all felonies. He also faces two sentencing enhancements: causing great bodily injury and victimizing a senior, court records show.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, at 12:29 a.m. Wednesday deputies were called to the 12000 block of Perris Boulevard in Moreno Valley about an assault.

A woman told deputies she answered a knock at her door and a man, later identified as Soza, entered her home, tried to strangle her and knocked her to the floor, the department said.
While deputies were investigating, they received a separate call about another woman in the 24000 block of Eucalyptus Avenue in Moreno Valley who was found injured on the ground.

The suspect, again later identified as Soza, hit her in the head, causing her to fall. Soza assaulted the woman while she was down until a good Samaritan distracted him. Soza fled, but "evidence of a sexual assault" was found at the scene, the sheriff's department reported.
Both women were sent to a local hospital with moderate injuries, according to the department.
It's not clear how investigators determined Soza was the perpetrator and whether he knew the victims. He was arrested at his home on Fir Avenue in Moreno Valley shortly before 5 p.m. the same day, jail records show. He was booked into Banning's Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility with no bail set for him.
Soza has no criminal convictions in Riverside County, according to court records.
Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to contact Deputy Christina Banuelos at the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station: 951-486–6700.
