Man Fatally Shoots Girlfriend In IE, Turns Gun On Himself: Police
The suspect was sent to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical but stable condition, police said.
INLAND EMPIRE, CA — An Inland Empire man is suspected of suspected of fatally shooting his girlfriend and then turning the gun on himself, authorities announced over the weekend.
Shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday, the Rialto Police Department received a call about a person who had been shot at home in the 300 block of S. Willow Avenue. Once on the scene, police found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Leonardo Rios-Gonzalez was also found at the home. He was suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

"Preliminary information indicates Rios-Gonzalez shot the victim, before turning the gun on himself," according to the police department.
The suspect was sent to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical but stable condition, police said.

"There was a relationship between the victim and Rios-Gonzalez, however, the motive for the shooting is still under investigation," according to police, who did not release the woman's identity.
The Press-Enterprise reported the suspect and victim were dating.
A murder charge against Rios-Gonzalez is expected in the case, police said.
