Military Weapons, Equipment Use By Beaumont Police: Public Meeting Set
The April 9 meeting provides an opportunity to learn about the cost, acquisition and use of military equipment by Beaumont PD.

BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont residents and business owners interested in obtaining more information about the police department's acquisition and use of military equipment are invited to get their questions answered.
The Beaumont Police Department will host a community meeting at 6 p.m. April 9 at the Beaumont Civic Center, 550 E. 6th Street following the release of its "Military Equipment (Specialized Equipment) Inventory and Fiscal Impact 2024 AB 481 Report."
The report summarizes the Beaumont Police Department's military equipment, including its command vehicle, drones, rifles and ammunition, PepperBall launcher, and Bola Wrap, among others. The report also includes the equipment's initial and ongoing costs.

California law enforcement agencies are required under the state's AB 481 to hold public meetings and provide annual reports about their procurement and use of military equipment.
