Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Crashing In Riverside

A 68-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday after a piece of debris in the roadway caused his motorcycle to crash.

RIVERSIDE, CA — A 68-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday after a piece of debris in the roadway caused his motorcycle to crash in Riverside.

It happened at about 9:50 p.m. Saturday as he traveled eastbound on Arlington Avenue, just before the Rutland Avenue intersection, according to the Riverside Police Department.

The purple 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle "struck a large block of wood in the roadway, causing the motorcyclist to go down," Sgt. Ryan Taack said.

The motorcyclist, identified only as a Riverside resident, suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
