INLAND EMPIRE, CA — New toll lanes are opening this week on Interstate 10 in the Inland Empire, stretching for 10 miles in both directions of the freeway from the Los Angeles County/San Bernardino County line in Montclair to Etiwanda Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga, just east of Interstate 15.

The project features a new freeway lane in each direction that was constructed and combined with existing HOV lanes on both sides of I-10.

Additionally, 18 bridges throughout the corridor were either replaced, widened, or improved to accommodate the freeway widening. Auxillary lanes were also constructed in selected locations.

To use the lanes, a FasTrak account is required to receive the lowest toll price. FasTrak transponders can be used anywhere in California. Drivers without FasTrak can pay tolls online using a Pay Toll Now feature within five days of their trip.

Toll pricing is dynamic and based on demand, distance and vehicle type (clean air vehicles, HOV vehicles and motorcycles). Exact pricing will be advertised at each point of entry within the corridor.
Drivers will be able to enter and exit the toll lanes from multiple points.
Construction on the project began in 2020. Funding for the $929.2 million project came from federal, state, and local sources.
