Santa Ana Winds blew across the IE again Thursday, with these areas seeing gusts of over 70 mph.

INLAND EMPIRE, CA — Thursday afternoon's howling winds swept across the Inland Empire have calmed as of Friday morning, with an end to critical fire weather by day's end, according to the National Weather Service.

As windows rattled and tree limbs groaned, many residents wondered how strong those winds were.

Among the top wind speeds recorded in the last 24 hours in SoCal, a Riverside County wind gust was clocked at 74 miles per hour in Lytle Creek South, with sustained winds near 54 mph.

During the most recent Santa Ana event, wind speeds in the Riverside County and San Bernardino Mountain areas were clocked by the NWS as follows:
