A Yucaipa man was behind bars Thursday, accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old Loma Linda girl in aRedlands motel room, the same case involving a Colton man accused of pimping, pandering, and arranging for men to have sex with the same girl, a city spokesman said.
Reginald Lamar Gatrail Lockhart, 23, was arrested Wednesday June 19 in Highland, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said. Lockhart was held June 20 at West Valley Detention Center on $150,000 bail, according to inmate records.
Wilbert Andres Mancia-Mejia, 31, of Colton, was arrested June 2. He remained behind bars Thursday at Central Detention Center, where he was held on $400,000 bail, according to inmate records.
On May 30, Mancia-Mejia rented a motel room in Redlands, Baker said.
"While Mancia-Mejia waited in his car in the motel parking lot Lockhart went into the room where he restrained and sexually assaulted the victim," Baker said. "Lockhart then told the girl to wait in the room for five minutes and left. After the girl told Mancia-Mejia about the assault he took her home."
The girl reported the assault to police on June 1, and Mancia-Mejia was arrested June 2, according to inmate records.
"Investigation of Mancia-Mejia's activities on the social networking sites indicate he was in contact with other girls between the ages of 15 and 17," Baker said. "Investigators are seeking information on any other potential victims."
