RIVERSIDE, CA – The Point Seekers Bass Club of Riverside, one of California’s most respected private bass fishing organizations, hosted its Annual Awards Banquet last Saturday at the Golden Era Golf Course Clubhouse. Members gathered to celebrate a successful season of competitive angling, camaraderie, and tradition — capped off by a heartfelt homecoming from one of their most accomplished former members, Brent Ehrler, now a nationally recognized professional bass angler.

Also in attendance was John Marrow of Evergreen, who presented some of Evergreen’s specialty rods to the club. The banquet was further supported by industry leaders Chad and Bob Voss of Voss Weights, and Roger Hass from Pro Point Lures, reinforcing the strong community surrounding the sport.
The evening’s highlight came when Brent Ehrler took the stage to share his story. Ehrler, now a decorated professional with multiple national tournament wins, began his journey right here at Point Seekers. At age 16, he was eager to join but had to wait until 18 to meet the club’s age requirement. Once eligible, he joined—and in short order, earned the club’s Angler of the Year title.
“Joining Point Seekers was a huge step for me,” said Ehrler. “Winning Angler of the Year here gave me the confidence and foundation to pursue competitive fishing seriously. I owe a lot to this club.”
Since then, Ehrler has ascended the ranks of professional bass fishing, earning recognition as one of the sport’s elite competitors. His return was a proud moment for the club and an inspiration to its members.
“The Point Seekers is more than a club—it’s a tradition,” said Mispagel. “To see a former member like Brent come full circle, from a young enthusiast to a pro angler, is what we’re all about. We’re proud to be one of the most respected bass clubs in California.”
The Point Seekers Bass Club remains a private, members-only organization dedicated to advancing the sport of bass fishing through competition, mentorship, and sportsmanship. With deep roots and an eye on the future, the club continues to set the standard across California.
