RivCo Historian To Lead Talk On Banning-Idyllwild Road, Lake Fulmor

The San Gorgonio Pass Historical Society will share the history behind the Panoramic Highway and Lake Fulmor's creation in 1947.

BANNING, CA — The San Gorgonio Pass Historical Society is gearing up to host an event on April 10 that delves into the history of the scenic State Route 243 and the creation of Lake Fulmor.

“The History of the Banning-Idyllwild Road and Lake Fulmor,” will begin at 7 p.m. at the Beaumont Woman’s Club Community Center, located at 306 E. 6th Street.

The discussion will be led by Riverside County historian Steve Lech, who will explore the construction of the scenic highway and the origins of Lake Fulmor, a popular spot for fishing and picnicking that was developed in 1947.
