Riverside County Woman Could Get Jail Time For MAGA Hat Incident
Edith Macias, a University of Riverside student, is accused of taking a "Make America Great Again" hat off a person.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA -- A Riverside County woman who allegedly snatched a "Make America Great Again" hat off a person may face a year in jail. Fox News reported that University of Riverside student Edith Macias may face jail time for snatching the hat off fellow student, Matthew Vitale's head.
"According to the criminal complaint, Macias is being charged with a misdemeanor offense of petty theft in the Sept. 27 incident. A spokesman for the DA’s office said the next court date is set for March," the news station reported.
Vitale apparently recorded Macias after the alleged incident and posted the video to Facebook. In the video, Macias told Vitale that the hat, a product of President Donald Trump's campaign, represented genocide.

Vitale told Fox News he pressed charges against Macias because he wants ""people my age to realize that things like this aren’t tolerated in America. We just want to have our rights guaranteed and that’s what it’s all about.”
