Sleeping Family Wakened By Masked Home Invaders In Redlands
In the middle of the night, "four to five masked intruders" kicked open a back door to the residence to gain entry, police said.
REDLANDS, CA — Redlands police are investigating a weekend home invasion in which a family was wakened in the middle of the night by masked intruders.
The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Concord Lane.
"Four to five masked intruders" kicked open a back door to the residence, setting off a home alarm, and began confronting the family, according to the Redlands Police Department.

The intruders went upstairs and woke the couple’s adult son, forcing him downstairs. One of the residents attempted to fight off the intruders with a cane. Another resident was injured when she tripped and hit her head while trying to get away, police said.
Police did not provide a motive and said the suspects fled the home after a few minutes without taking anything.

When police arrived at the scene, the neighborhood was searched but no suspects were found.
The injured woman was transported to a hospital for treatment.
