BANNING, CA — Drivers, slow down as you drive through Banning on Thursday. The California Department of Transportation is alerting drivers that landscape crews will be working near the Redlands Freeway (I-10) westbound in Banning this week.

On Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., westbound I-10's #4 lane will be closed between Hargrave Street and 8th Street, allowing for the crews to work safely.

Crews will be conducting a weed abatement and litter clean-up on the right shoulders, even as temperatures are expected to be over 100 degrees on Thursday. Work was slated to be performed on Thursday, August 21st, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"Please reduce your speed when near work areas for the safety of crews and other drivers on the route," they said. "Signage will be placed ahead to indicate approaching roadway work."
