Small Earthquake Shakes Riverside County

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - A small earthquake jolted a section of Riverside County Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The temblor struck at 8:21 a.m. at a depth of 5.6 miles with a magnitude of 3, its epicenter 7.8 miles south-southeast of Ribbonwood and 15.2 miles south-southwest of La Quinta, according to a computer-generated report from the USGS.

According to the USGS, the quake was centered:

• 14.9 mi ESE of Anza
• 14.9 mi NNW of Borrego Springs
• 14.9 mi SSW of La Quinta
• 17.4 mi NE of Warner Springs
• 24.9 mi SSE of Palm Springs

No damages or injuries were immediately reported.
