Smoke From IE Blaze Seen For Miles As 20+ Acres Burn, 0% Containment
A blaze broke out Wednesday near Lotus Street and Canal Street in the Rubidoux hills.

RUBIDOUX, CA—A brush fire broke out on ranchland near the Pomona (60) Freeway in Jurupa Valley Wednesday, sending thick smoke across the area before Cal Fire aircraft slowed its progress. The brusher blackened over 20 acres in the Rubidoux area and is 0% contained, the department shared.
"The fire is approximately 20 acres, burning at a moderate rate of spread, and is 0% contained," a Cal Fire spokesperson said. "There is no structure threat. Multiple air and ground resources are on scene."
Shortly before 10:15 a.m., the fire broke out at Canal Street and Lotus Street and has been dubbed the Lotus Fire. As of an hour later, firefighters were battling the blaze both on the ground and from a helicopter attack.

According to the latest incident statements, the fire was burning in the hills amid light to medium vegetation, and there were no injuries or evacuations.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
