Stabbing Suspect Nabbed After Search Of San Timoteo Canyon
Sheriff's officials say a Yuciapa man stabbed another man during an altercation at a home in the area.

BEAUMONT, CA — A 50-year-old Yucaipa man is in custody Thursday, accused of stabbing another man during an "altercation at a residence" west of Beaumont, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reports.
The incident was first reported around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 29000 block of San Timoteo Canyon Road, in the incorporated area of Riverside County near Redlands.
"Upon arrival, deputies learned a 50-year-old male, had been stabbed during an altercation at a residence," sheriff's Sgt. Richard Carroll said in a news release. "The male was transported to an area hospital, where he remains in stable condition."

Meanwhile, when authorities were helping the victim in the case, the suspect had taken off running, according to Carroll.
Authorities launched a large-scale search in the area, utilizing a helicopter and SWAT team, and Fernando Garcia was ultimately found and caught around 9 p.m., according to witness reports and jail booking logs.

Garcia was booked into the Banning jail on suspicion of several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $35,000.
