Two men were arrested Wednesday and accused of armed robbery at a business in San Jacinto, according to the Sherif's Department.
Leroy Napoleon Jones, 44, and Alphonso Lee Brooks, 43, were held Aug. 29 on $1,000,000 bail each at Smith Correctional in Banning, according to inmate records.
San Jacinto police Sgt. W. Clear said officers responded to the reported robbery at 12:23 p.m. Aug. 28 in the 600 block of North State Street.
"While responding to the scene, a San Jacinto Police investigator spotted a male on Seventh Street, matching the description of a look-out from a previous armed robbery with similar circumstances that occurred in San Jacinto on August 26," Clear said in a statement.
The man, identified as Jones, was detained and accused of being a look-out in both armed robberies, according to Clear. A second suspect, identified as Brooks, was taken into custody at his residence in San Jacinto.
"Surveillance video at both businesses captured the robberies and assisted investigators with the identification of the suspects," Clear said. "Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Larry Smith Correctional Facility where they were booked for armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime."
Anyone with more info about the robberies was urged to call the San Jacinto police at (951) 654-2702. San Jacinto contracts for its police services with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
