Where To Dispose Of Hazardous Waste In Beaumont, RivCo

Riverside County is hosting an event for residents to drop off paint products, electronic waste, pesticides and more.

BEAUMONT, CA — Do you have old or unused paint thinners, televisions, antifreeze, cleaners, expired medications or pesticides that you need to purge from your home?

Thanks to Riverside County of Waste Resources, you can dispose of them for free on three upcoming dates in Beaumont and Corona.

On April 19, Riverside County residents can bring their items to Lamb Canyon Permanent HHW Collection Facility at 16411 Lamb Canyon Rd., Beaumont.

On April 26 and 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can take advantage of a weekend of other collection events at Corona City Hall Parking Lot, 400 South Vicentia Ave., Corona.

The county warns that it is illegal to transport more than 15 gallons, or 125 pounds, of hazardous waste per car trip. Individual containers should be no larger than five gallons nor weigh more than 50 pounds, officials said.

The following items will not be accepted: Explosives, radioactive material, ammunition, asbestos, compressed-gas cylinders over 40 pounds, or infectious or medical waste other than sharps.

Here are some of the items that will be accepted:

  • Automotive chemicals
  • Household pesticides
  • Batteries (auto, household & rechargeable nicads)
  • Paint
  • Electronics (including TVs, computers & monitors, VCRs, etc.)
  • Used motor oil
  • Fluorescent tubes & bulbs
  • Pool chemicals
  • Household chemicals
  • Sharps (hypodermic needles)
  • Household cleaners
