BELMONT, CA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Wes Bailey who nominated Audrey, a 7th Grade student of Belmont.

How do you know the star local student?

Parent

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Audrey is a wonderful student and has really committed herself to Kung Fu where she recently earned her Purple belt and will begin sparring despite being quite small for her age. She was also very competitive in Cross Country where she finished in 2nd place in her first ever race and had a great season leading the girls team for Nesbit Middle School while being the fastest among both boys and girls in 6th to 8th grade!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is a strong girl who doesn't buy into and has proven all of the stereotypes about girls vs boys to be wrong.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Audrey!
