Deadly Highway 101 Crash Reported On The Peninsula

Coroner's officials have also identified the San Mateo County resident who died in the weekend wreck.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A 34-year-old East Palo Alto man has been identified by the San Mateo County coroner's office as the motorcyclist who died in a crash on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Menlo Park early Saturday morning.

Fredrick Mahoni died in the crash reported around 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of northbound Highway 101 and Willow Road.

Mahoni's 2008 Suzuki motorcycle crashed with a 2014 Jeep and he died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 35-year-old Jeep driver did not report any injuries.

The Jeep driver was not found to be intoxicated and the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
