Improvements Underway for Barrett Parking Lot
The project should be completed by September 20. In the meantime, the city will open the gates on the Belburn Avenue side of the center for activities that require additional parking.

Improvements to the Barrett Community Center parking lot began on Monday, temporarily limiting parking in the area adjacent to Ralston Avenue. The project is expected to be completed by September 20, 2013.
According to the City Manager’s Weekly Update newsletter, the contractor performing the pavement work will use a section of the side parking lot along Ralston Avenue to for staging and storing materials for the project.

The Parks and Recreation Department will work with AYSO soccer to allow for parking options in early September. For events or activities that require additional parking, the city will open the gates on the Belburn Avenue side of the facility near the community garden, which has adequate space to accommodate any overflow.
As compensation for using the area from July 22 to September 20, the contractor has agreed to slurry seal the parking lot, which the city says will be a great improvement to the aging parking lot.
