Officer Delatorre is no stranger to Benicia or the police department, officials said. She came to the department in 2019 as a community services officer after working for San Rafael Police Department for more then two years.

According to the police department, she has always had an aspiration to become a police officer, and this year she achieved that goal. On Saturday, Officer Delatorre graduated from the police academy.
