Pedestrian Killed By Suspected DUI Driver In Bay Area: Police
The driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, police said.
VALLEJO, CA — A man suspected of driving under the influence was arrested Sunday in connection with a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Vallejo, police said.
Details about what led up to the crash were limited. Police say the driver appears to have been impaired when they struck the pedestrian just after 1 a.m. in the area of Sonoma Boulevard, north of Meadows Drive
The pedestrian died at the scene, while the driver was taken to a local hospital following the crash, according to the Vallejo Police Department. The pedestrian's identity was not immediately revealed.

Officers suspected the driver may have been impaired while driving and secured a warrant for a blood sample drawn, police said.
The man was then arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, police said. Police identified him as Morris Turner, a 48-year-old resident of American Canyon.
