Bridge Demolition Work To Close I-80 Connector Ramp In Vallejo

Caltrans will close the eastbound I-80 connector ramp to Highway 29 overnight for two consecutive nights.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Caltrans will close the eastbound Interstate Highway 80 and state Highway 29 (Sonoma Boulevard) connector ramp in Vallejo for two consecutive nights as crews start bridge demolition work for the bridge replacement project.

The closure is from 11:59 p.m. Saturday, July 31, until 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, and again from 11:59 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2.

Motorists are encouraged to use the eastbound I-780 — Curtola Parkway — off-ramp to westbound Lemon Street to SR-29 (Sonoma Boulevard).

The project involves completely removing the 173-foot-long bridge deck and replacing it with a new strengthened bridge deck and approach slabs.

The new construction will include a Class 1 bike path on northbound State Route 29, increase vertical clearance of the bridge from 15.2 feet to 18.7 feet and add new drainage inlets on I-80 upstream and downstream of the bridge.
