Caltrans To Reopen Georgia Street, Tennessee Street I-80 Overcrossings
Both were scheduled to reopen later in the spring but due to favorable working conditions, the projects were completed ahead of schedule.
SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The Georgia Street and Tennessee Street overcrossings at Interstate 80 in Vallejo will reopen by mid-May, ahead of the original opening dates later this spring, Caltrans announced.
Both overpasses are part of the I-80 Six Bridges Project, a Senate Bill 1 project.
The Georgia Street overcrossing will reopen this week and the Tennessee Street overcrossing will reopen Friday, May 13, Caltrans said.

"Both were originally scheduled to reopen later in the spring but due to favorable working conditions, the projects were completed ahead of schedule," Caltrans Spokesperson Vince Jacala said.
Improvements on the two freeway overpasses included higher vertical clearance so modern trucks can pass underneath, and improved pedestrian walkways making it safer to cross.

Work on the Redwood Street overcrossing will start May 16 and is expected to last five months.
"Completing the projects sooner than expected will allow Caltrans to accelerate the project timetable for the Redwood Street overcrossing, which is the last bridge associated with the I-80 Six Bridges Project," Jacala said.
