1 Dead, 5 Injured In Crash On I-80 In Solano County
The fatal crash near Pedrick Road closed all westbound lanes Tuesday morning.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — One person died and five people were injured in a chain-reaction collision Tuesday morning on Interstate 80 in Dixon.
The crash involving two large pickup trucks and a big rig was reported at 6:53 a.m. on westbound I-80 at the Pedrick Road onramp and was blocking all three westbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Sig-alert was issued at 7:30 a.m. and traffic was being diverted to Frontage Road.

The roadway reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
According to the CHP, the driver of a Ford F-650 was traveling westbound on I-80, east of Pedrick Road, in the slow lane approaching slower-moving traffic when he rear-ended a Ford F-450.

The impact caused the driver of the F-450 to lose control and crash into the metal guardrail center median.
The Ford F-650 continued westbound and sideswiped a Volvo big rig, fatally injuring the driver of the F-650. The 42-year-old Sacramento man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of the F-650, a 28-year-old Sacramento man, was taken to Kaiser Vacaville Hospital with suspected major injuries.
The driver of the F-450, a 60-year-old Elk Grove man, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He had three passengers who were also treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The big rig driver, a 57-year-old Sacramento man, was not injured in the collision.
"Currently, it is unknown if distracted driving or drugs and/or alcohol intoxication is a factor in this crash," CHP Officer Jason Tyhurst said.
