VALLEJO, CA — A five-alarm fire Saturday that burned down a home used for storage started in debris in the backyard, Vallejo Fire Department engineer and paramedic Kevin Brown said this afternoon. The 12:10 p.m. fire at 225 Cassady St. also caused moderate, exterior damage to a nearby two-story apartment building on Springs Road.

Also, Brown said embers from the fire landed on the roofs and in gutters of three other homes on Cassady Street causing cosmetic damage, and a shed and garage at 255 Cassady St. burned.

Brown said the backyard debris included furniture, appliances and cabinets.
