I-80 Traffic Delayed By Crash, Construction

Traffic on westbound Interstate Highway 80 was backed up between Hercules and Vallejo.

CONTRA COSTA and SOLANO COUNTIES, CA — All lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 80 just east of Pinole Valley Road are now clear after a multi-motorcycle crash blocked the left lanes of the highway early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involving two motorcycles was first reported around 5:35 a.m.

The crash blocked the No. 1 and 2 lanes as of 6 a.m., and two people were injured. All lanes were open around 7 a.m., according to the CHP.

The crash was in the vicinity of a construction zone where the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes were closed on Tuesday night and reopened in the early morning hours of Wednesday morning's commute, sparking a backup from Vallejo to Hercules, CHP officials said.
