Man Fatally Shot In Vallejo

VALLEJO, CA — Someone was found shot dead in Vallejo on Sunday, according to police.
Just before 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers responded to the 100 block of Woodside Road after getting a report of an unresponsive male in the roadway.
The male was in the street in front of a residence and appeared to be suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.

Detectives have taken over the case and are investigating, the department said.
Police began trauma-informed outreach and resource connections for impacted residents and businesses, the department said.

The identity of the victim has not yet been determined, police said, and the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
