• Chris Byrne: August 5, 1947 – December 5, 2025 (theabsolutesound.com) — Benicia readers may recognize NHT speakers, the high-end audio company founded and based in town by the late Chris Byrne, who has died at 78. The longtime audio industry innovator helped launch the compact disc, led NHT until 2020, and later consulted while enjoying life with family in Napa. A celebration of his life will be announced later.
