"Unfortunately, nothing can erase the defendant's heinous and unfathomable criminal conduct, nor take away all the damage, pain, anger and grief he has caused," Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams said in a written statement.
Abrams said the plea can provide the family and the community a sense of closure knowing Shuemake will be in prison for life.
