Suspicious Circumstances Lead to North Bay Man's Murder Arrest

Vallejo detectives say that contrary to what witnesses reported, a man who supposedly died after a fall was actually murdered.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A Vallejo man was been arrested for the murder of a Suisun City man who died under suspicious circumstances earlier this month.

The case was opened on Feb. 16, when police were notified of suspicious circumstances surrounding a death that occurred days earlier, and they began investigating.

During the investigation, police learned that a physical fight took place in the 700 block of Virginia Street on Feb. 11. During the altercation, 48-year-old Landrin Kelly of Suisun City was knocked to the ground. The incident, however, was reported to 911 operators as a fall, police said.

When medical crews arrived, witnesses falsely informed them that Kelly fell, and they withheld information about the fight. Kelly was transported to a local trauma center where he died on Feb. 13 as a result of
his injuries.

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, police detectives arrested Kevin Jackson, 49, of Vallejo on suspicion of murdering Kelly, police said. Jackson was booked into the Solano County Jail.
