$15,000 Reward in Berkeley Fatal Hit and Run
A $15,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the driver who fatally struck a pedestrian on University Avenue on July 15.

The City of Berkeley is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on the University Avenue overpass on July 15, police said today, Monday.
An officer on patrol found the body of a Berkeley are transient, John Patrick Miller, 46, about 5:50 a.m. in the westbound lanes of University near 5th Street where University turns into an overpass over Interstate 80.
Berkeley police investigators determined that Miller had been struck by a vehicle, police said.
The Berkeley Police Department "is urging anyone who may know anything about this fatal collision to please call the Traffic Bureau at (510) 981-5980, or our non-emergency number at (510) 981-5900," the department said in a news release today.
"If a person wishes to remain anonymous, he/she can call the Bay Area Crime Stoppers (BACS) AT (800) 222-TIPS (8477). Any information may be critical to solving this crime."
