2 Shot In Berkeley Home Invasion Robbery: Cops

Both victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The suspects remain at large.

BERKELEY, CA — Two Berkeley residents suffered gunshot wounds during a home invasion robbery early Wednesday morning, police said.

Both victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Berkeley Police Department Lt. Dan Montgomery said. The suspects remain at large.

Officers at around 3:30 a.m. responded to the report of a home invasion in the 1800 block of 62nd Street, Montgomery said.

Multiple suspects forced their way through the front door of the home and shot two residents, Montgomery said.

The victims were transported to Highland Hospital in Oakland. Their condition was not known, Montgomery said.

“This home invasion robbery and shooting were targeted and not random,” the BPD said in a statement.
