Amtrak Train From Oakland To Bakersfield Canceled Due To Engine Failure

The route has other Bay Area stops in Emeryville, Richmond, Martinez and Antioch-Pittsburg as well as Central Valley stops.

OAKLAND, CA — Amtrak's San Joaquins train service has to cancel trips from Oakland to Bakersfield and back Tuesday morning because of engine failure on a train, according to the train agency.

Train number 710 was supposed to leave at 7:36 a.m. from Jack London Square for a trip lasting more than six hours to Bakersfield, where Train number 717 was supposed to make a return trip starting at 2:12 p.m. and arriving in Oakland at 8:31 p.m.

The San Joaquins route has other Bay Area stops in Emeryville, Richmond, Martinez and Antioch-Pittsburg as well as Central Valley stops in Stockton, Modesto, Turlock, Merced, Madera, Hanford, Corcoran and Wasco.
