BART Resumes Service Between Richmond, Downtown Berkeley Stations

A medical emergency shut down the Red Line early Friday morning.

BERKELEY, CA — BART has resumed its train service between the Richmond and Downtown Berkeley stations after a "major medical emergency" occurred near the North Berkeley station Friday morning, according to transit officials.

There is still a major delay on the Richmond line in all directions, BART officials said in an advisory around 7:40 a.m.

BART had suspended its Red Line train service between Richmond and Millbrae stations after the medical emergency was reported around 6:40 a.m. There is still no direct Red Line service between the two stations.

Passengers can board a Berryessa-bound train and transfer at MacArthur station to a SFO/Millbrae train. Those coming from Millbrae are advised to board an Antioch-bound train and transfer at 19th Street station to a Richmond-bound train.

No details about the medical emergency were immediately released by BART.
