Beloved East Bay Festival Invites Community To Take A Stroll

Indulge in a mile's worth of arts and crafts, music, food, entertainment and more at a local street festival.

BERKELEY, CA — September is a month chock-full of festivals. Among them is the historic Solano Avenue Stroll, which marks its returns this Sunday.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Solano Avenue, a thoroughfare connecting Albany and Berkeley, will be lined with hundreds of vendors, artisans, food booths and local businesses, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. The family-friendly event also features music and activities for kids.

When the stroll was first organized in 1974, about 100 people participated; it now draws well over 100,000 people, according to the Solano Avenue Association.

Held annually on the second Sunday in September, the free event is regarded as the East Bay's largest street festival.
