Berkeley Firefighters Quickly Knock Down Marina-Area Blaze
The blaze likely originated at a homeless encampment, Berkeleyside reports.
BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley firefighters on Sunday night made quick work of a brush fire in the Marina area according to police.
Police at around 6:50 p.m. issued an advisory to motorists to avoid the area of West Frontage Road and University Avenue to Marina Boulevard until further notice due to a brush fire.
Shortly after 8 p.m., police said the area had been reopened.

The two-acre blaze was likely originated at a homeless encampment, Berkeleyside reports.
