Berkeley Hosts Summer Movies In The Park Series

Through late September, organizers in Berkeley are inviting community members to watch their favorite movies under the stars.

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley organizers are inviting residents to watch a few more films across various local parks before the summer is over.

The city's Recreational Division planned to host eight free outdoor movies on a large inflatable movie screen Friday nights from June 17 to Sept. 23.

The next scheduled movie is "Up," which will be shown at Glendale La Loma Park at 1310 La Loma Ave. on Friday. The film starts at 8:15 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, sleeping bags or low-back beach chairs with a maximum height of 9 inches off the ground. The event is alcohol-free and movie goers are urged bring a flashlight or a headlamp to safely make it out of the park after the movie ends.
