
In a letter in the New York Times published Sunday, a UC Berkeley professor criticizes the policy of building more barricades along the United States/Mexico border.
"The last decade of boundary-line fortifications has caused serious damage to the shared lives and commerce along the border, and has poisoned binational relations," said Michael Dear, a professor in Cal's College of Environmental Design.
His commentary was in response to the May 13 New York Times front-page article, "“Building Ties to a Neighbor on the Border.”
