Berkeley Road Closures Slated For Cal Football Games
Several streets in Berkeley will be closed on home game days during the Bears' football season.

BERKELEY, CA — The University of California, Berkeley's football season is underway, and home games at Memorial Stadium will result in some street closures, the City of Berkeley announced Wednesday.
Home game days are this Saturday (Sept. 6); Sept. 13; Oct. 4 and 17; and Nov. 1 and 29.
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic on game days:

- Piedmont Avenue between Bancroft Way and Channing Way (northbound)
- Durant Avenue between College Avenue and Piedmont Avenue (eastbound)
- Channing Way between Piedmont Avenue and Prospect Street (eastbound)
- Gayley Road between Hearst Avenue and Stadium Rim Way (both directions)
- Addison Street between Kala Bagai Way and Oxford Street (both directions)
Additionally, access to the Panoramic Way and Dwight/Hillside neighborhoods will be limited to residents, said city officials.
People should also avoid parking on certain streets on game days to avoid a $225 parking ticket and being towed, officials advised. Game day parking restrictions near the stadium begin at 8 a.m. and last until 11 p.m.

All vehicles – even those with a valid Residential Parking Permit (RPP) permit – will be towed if they are parked on these streets on game days:
- College Avenue, between Bancroft Way and Dwight Way
- Bancroft Way, between College Avenue and Piedmont Avenue
- Durant Avenue, between College Avenue and Piedmont Avenue
- Piedmont Avenue, from the stadium entrance to Channing Way
- Warring Street, from Piedmont Avenue to Channing Way
- Prospect Street, from the stadium entrance to Channing Way
- Canyon Road, from the stadium entrance to Prospect Street
- Hearst Avenue, from Euclid Avenue to Highland Place
- Ashby Avenue, from Claremont Avenue to Domingo Avenue
"Visitors parking in RPP zones B and D around the Elmwood neighborhood can park for up to two hours without a permit," noted officials.

For those planning to attend at-home Cal football games, taking public transit, riding a bike or scooter or walking is recommended.
