"...I definitely would not put a biolab with some kind of potential risk of something escaping from the lab or [of] danger to people or animals inside, in a place where it's a dangerous setting for a building." Dr. Kristina Hill
UC Berkeley's Dr. Kristina Hill presented fascinating evidence about the risks for communities and developments on shorelines, to the Berkeley Neighborhoods Council this past Monday October 23.
Why conventional development along these areas is likely to fail is something anyone living in or near a shoreline community anywhere will want to know. For those living in the SF Bay Area, the slide presentation was particularly informative. For all, the talk was riveting, compelling and, fortunately for those who missed it, viewable here!

Dr. Hill's presentation is relevant to all shoreline development, including affordable housing on contaminated sites as well as biolab development. The Q & A was informative for all local communities.
