Calling all cookbook enthusiasts, food lovers, and wine-curious home (or professional) chefs! Whether you love to cook, sip, or simply page through a beautifully crafted cookbook, the Cookbook Lovers Club is for you. In collaboration with the fabulous food stylist and cookbook author Bebe Carminito, our club gathers to celebrate the art of cookbooks—featuring a different author and their delicious creations. We meet, eat, sip, and savor good conversation with fellow foodies.

This month, join us for a sensory celebration of tea and the 10th anniversary of Steeped: Recipes Infused with Tea by Bay Area cookbook author Annelies Zijderveld, named a Los Angeles Times Favorite Cookbook of the Year. This beautiful, inventive book explores tea not just as a beverage, but as a vibrant, versatile ingredient that can transform your cooking from morning eats to evening sweets.

Annelies will guide us through the flavorful world of cooking with tea, sharing (and sampling!) savory and sweet recipes like Moroccan Mint Truffles and Smoky White Bean Walnut Spread on Crostini. You’ll learn about the provenance of different teas, discover unexpected ways to use them in your kitchen, and even enjoy a moment of “tea meditation” to savor the present. We’ll taste examples from the book, explore the poetry of tea, and take part in a short reflective workshop on how each of us came to tea.

Whether you’re a lifelong tea drinker or new to its charms, you’ll come away inspired to pull out your favorite blends, slow down, and make space for yourself—cup by cup, dish by dish.

Your ticket includes:

  • Tea tasting and small bites inspired by recipes from Steeped

  • Guided tea experience led by Annelies Zijderveld and Bebe Black-Carminito

  • Conversation and connection with fellow tea lovers

  • Special take-home tea treats

A limited number of copies of Steeped will be available for purchase at the event.
