(Updated) Child Porn Probe Ensnares BUSD Worker: Report

Muhammad Yousuf Khan, 21, was arrested on suspicion of possessing and distributing child pornography, Berkeleyside reports.

BUSD Senior Communications Officer Trish McDermott told Patch that Khan served as a support staff member and was not a teacher. "This individual was not a teacher. He supervised outdoor playground games, always with a BUSD employee," McDermott said.

BERKELEY, CA — A Berkeley Unified School District after-school program worker was arrested Thursday in connection with a Contra Costa County child pornography probe, Berkeleyside reports.

Muhammad Yousuf Khan, 21 of El Sobrante, was arrested on suspicion of possessing and distributing child pornography, according to the report, which the Contra Costa County inmate locator website confirms.

Khan was employed by the Berkeley Unified School District as a contractor through the agency Elevo, according to the report.

He worked at an after-school program at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, and also worked briefly at Thousand Oaks Elementary School, according to the report.

Khan worked with children exclusively in outdoor settings while supervised, BUSD Superintendent Brent Stephens told Berkeleyside.
