On January 8th at 8:15 am, an officer was patrolling the 2300 block of Eighth Street when he spotted a man getting into his vehicle. The officer recognized the man as previously wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident where a victim suffered several head injuries in November. When the officer stopped nearby to conduct a records check of the man’s vehicle, the man approached the officer to inquire why the officer was performing a records check. When the officer told the man that he had a warrant for his arrest, the man ran away from the officer.
The officer ran after the suspect and caught up with him about ½ block away when the suspect ran out of energy.
