Fatal Berkeley Crash Victim ID’d

A pedestrian killed in a collision Monday in Berkeley was 54-year-old Vallejo resident Latitia Austin Ahmad.

BERKELEY, CA — A pedestrian killed in a collision Monday in Berkeley was 54-year-old Vallejo resident Latitia Austin Ahmad, officials with the Alameda County coroner's bureau said Thursday.

Multiple people called at 9:56 p.m. Monday to report a collision between a vehicle and two pedestrians in the area of Ashby Avenue and Newbury Street.

Both pedestrians suffered serious injuries in the crash, and both were taken to a hospital where Austin Ahmad died.

The other person, a woman in her 20s, was in stable condition after the crash, police said.
